Tropical rainforests cover about 6-7% of the Earth’s land surface and are mainly located in the tropics. That is the regions of the Earth between the tropic of Cancer (23.5° N latitude) and the tropic of Capricorn. (23.5° S latitude) The world’s largest rain forests are the Amazon rain forest of South America, the Congo River Basin in West Africa and the rain forests of South East Asia. There are also smaller rain forests in Central America, Madagascar, the Pacific Islands, Northern Australia, and India. Features of rain forests covered in this video include their location, patterns of rainfall, biodiversity, soils and stratified forests. This video was made in Thailand.
