FAO’s Climate Change Adaptation in Wetlands Areas in Lao PDR (CAWA) project is funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) through the Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF) and implemented in the two Ramsar-listed wetlands, Xe Champhone in Savannakhet province and Beug Kiat Ngong in Champasack province, Laos. The project aims to support communities to adapt to the impacts of climate change and contribute to the sustainability of their livelihoods by supporting the restoration and sustainable management of the globally critical Ramsar-designated wetlands on which they depend.
