TRIP REPORT | ALITALIA | AIRBUS A320 | Venice (VCE) to Rome Fiumicino (FCO)| Thunderstorm at VCE

Hi guys,
In my intention this should be a TR about my journey from VCE to SUF including two flights: AZ 1480 from VCE to FCO, a short one-hour layover at FCO and finally AZ1173 from FCO to SUF.
But the weather had other plans to me and other passengers departing from VCE in the late evening of the 13th August 2018.
A heavy thunderstorm hit Venice at that time with heavy rain and strong winds forcing all the departing flights to get back from the taxiway to parking positions.
That's we made as well.
After a 40 mins delay airport got back to normal operations but cause of traffic we were cleared for taking pushback after a further 30 mins delay and longtime holding in queue on the taxiway.
The bottom line was that I missed my connection flight and I was reprotected.
But inconveniences and bad weather are an advantage for an aviation enthusiast as you know... so you can enjoy a different trip report if you want!
