2019 Lone Star Land Steward: Kirchoff Family Farm

Kirchoff Family Farm - South Texas Region
The Kirchoff family’s conservation goal for their Wilson County property is to ensure that the family land they reverted from cotton fields to native prairie is protected for future generations. Siblings Don, Brenda, Scott and Susan Kirchoff have spent 10 years restoring the native prairie grasses that once dominated their 200 acres. Today it is under a conservation easement with Native Prairies Association of Texas, ensuring that it won’t be broken up into smaller pieces, keeping their prairie project intact for years to come.
