JOEY - Concrete Blonde Cover

I always loved this band - Concrete Blonde - specifically Johnette Napolitano's voice and the guitar style of James Mankey. To me his guitar sounds were always haunting with some rock, blues and country influences infused throughout. I used the Helix Native to try to get a taste of his tone using the Deluxe US Norm amp model and a 1x12 US Deluxe cab with a 160 Ribbon mic. The distortion is a Legacy Tube Drive with a Hall reverb and a Transistor Tape Delay. I split the signal path out of the distortion and went into a Studio Tube Preamp and the US Deluxe amp and merged them back together before the rest of the effects on the back end. I didn't use a pick on this one as I listened to James' playing, to me that's how it sounds like he is playing it and it got the tone and feel that I wanted. Enjoy.
