RUSSIAN LETTERS THAT:
ARE (ALMOST) THE SAME
А а - like the "a" in “car”
К к - like the "k" in "kitten” or the “c” in “crocodile”
М м - like the "m" in “milk”
O o - like the "o" in "bored"
(never as the English diphthong “ou”)
Т т - like the "t" in "talk”
(Though the hand-written capital letter looks rather similar to the letter "м")
LOOK LIKE English letters
BUT SOUND DIFFERENT:
В в - like the "v" in "vine”
Е е - like the "ye" in “yet” or like the “e” in “exit”
Н н - like the "n" in "note”
Р р - like the "r" in "rum“, but it is rolled
С с - like the "s" in "salt”
У у - like the "oo" in "root".
Х х - like the "h" in "ham”
Russian letters that LOOK UNUSUAL, but HAVE FAMILIAR SOUNDS:
Б б - like the "b" in "bottle”
Г г - like the "g" in "go”
Д д - like the "d" in "damn"
З з - like the "z" in "zoo"
И и - like the “ee” in “meet”
Л л - like the "l" in "little”
П п - like the "p" in "prank”
Ф ф - like the "f" in "freak”
Э э - Pronounced like the "e" in “end"
COMPLETELY NEW RUSSIAN LETTERS/SOUNDS:

Ж ж - Like the ”s” in "pleasure"
Ц ц - Similar to the "ts" sound in “hits” or "eats”
Ч ч - like the "ch" in "chat”

Щ щ - Hell difficult to pronounce, guys..=)) Just say the “sh” and “ch” sounds together (one after another)
Something like sh_ch in fresh_cheese
Ы ы - like the "i" in “ill” or like English schwa sound “Ə” in problEm, parrOt
Й й - like the "y" sound in "boy" or like the "gh" in “sigh".
