On an area of ​​around 140 hectares, the size of 200 soccer fields, one of the largest solar parks in Germany is being built near the village of Berg im Gau, district of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen. When the park is finished, up to 120 megawatts of electricity should flow from the solar panels. Enough to theoretically supply 30,000 households. Finkenzeller Bau, a medium-sized local company, is responsible for laying the cables for the extensive cable network with a total length of 1 million meters in the ground. The difficulty here was that the trenches had to be created in the soft bog soil. And not just on soft floors! In a nearby quarry it went through a closed rock formation of soil class 6-7. 100 meters per hour is a performance that no other machine can even come close to.
