Filmmaker Brett Chapman looks at the leftovers of love as he tries to piece together what it all means.

Two years ago, Brett and his best friend Conner took a whirlwind trip of Europe. When they arrived in Amsterdam, he met and fell in love with a Swedish girl named Ebba. By some miracle of geography, Brett and Ebba were in Holland at the same time.

They fell in love and decided to travel the world together.

But all things come to an end. And they had to go their separate ways -- Brett stayed in England and Ebba went back to Sweden.

But before she left, she wrote him seven unopened letters with instructions on when to read them.

In the film, Brett records his thoughts and emotions as he opens up each letter -- from hunting for the playlist she made for him to reading the words of encouragement to get him through sadness and discouragement.

Once he opens all the letters, he realizes he truly loves her and he's made a big mistake. So he writes his own letter proclaiming his feelings and books a flight to Sweden to hand-deliver it to her.

The weekend is one of the best moments of his life. But despite all that, Ebba reveals she doesn't feel the same way about him -- she isn't in love with him anymore.

Heartbroken, Brett throws his letter away and spends the remaining time they have together enjoying the moment.

But through it all, he learns a valuable lesson -- the true residue of his relationship with Ebba isn't the photos on his phone or the seven letters she left him, it's who he has become after the changes that the time he spent her her has made on him.
