Quarterback Chuck Fusina fired two touchdown passes and Philadelphia came up with two key pass interceptions as the Stars toppled the San Antonio Gunslingers 20-14.

Meanwhile, Frank Case, a graduate of Central Bucks West and a product of Penn State who played for the Stars last season, played largely on passing downs and contributed to the Gunslingers' overall strong defensive effort.

Cornerback Bill Hardee sealed San Antonio's fate when he intercepted quarterback Rick Neuheisel's pass in the end zone with 12 seconds left in the game. With five minutes to play, free safety Mike Lush dashed another Gunslinger opportunity when he intercepted a halfback pass by Don Roberts at the Philadelphia eight.

Fusina finished the game with a career high of 296 yards by completing 22 of 31 passes.

San Antonio made futile comeback effort after Mark McCants' 51-yard return of the second-half kickoff set up a 39-yard field goal by David Trout that made the score 17-0. San Antonio, limited to 98 total yards In the first two quarters, bounced back with an 80-yard drive in 18 plays for its first touchdown.

Neuheisel snaked two yards on a fourth-and-one play and Putt Choate ran 19 yards to the Philadelphia 32 on fourth-and-eight to highlight the drive. The payoff came on a two-yard touchdown pass from Neuheisel to Jerry Gordon. Nick Mike-Mayer's extra point made it 17-7.

After the Stars next possession, the Gunslingers battled back with an eight-play, 67-yard touchdown drive, capped by Scott Stamper's one-yard run.

Stamper's 40-yard run, the longest of the season for San Antonio, highlighted the march Mike-Mayer's point after made it 17-14 with 4:07 gone in the quarter.

After a scoreless first quarter, Philadelphia scored on its fourth possession of the game with Fusina hitting Scott Fitzkee with a 15-yard touchdown pass. Trout kicked the point to make It 7-0. Fusina hit Tom Donovan with a touchdown pass with six seconds left in the half to make it 14-0.
