Alone In The Ophir Mining Cemetery At Sunset

The Ophir cemetery is located below the Ophir mining town. The town of Ophir was active in the mid-late 1800s. The population peaked in 1880. By 1890, the mines shut down, and Ophir became a ghost town. With the cemetery being over 140 years old, it's no given that so little remains in terms of headstones and grave sites. Now the cemetery sits quiet, receiving a sparse amount of visitors in the middle of the desolate Nevada desert.
