For my premiere babies: Howdy hey and hello! This is the countdown for our semester short upload. You'll find more info in the description, but for the most part, this project has a lot of meaning to us. For this semester, we were given the opportunity during Study Abroad to create any artistic project for disability/awareness. As a victim of sexual assault, I, along with Christon Tan, created a short music video bringing awareness to those struggling with trauma. Our short is not intended to say that it’s easy nor that going to a therapist alone will be the magic cure as could easily be said. Healing comes from within, and a part of healing is recognizing what happened and knowing you aren’t to blame. Our short is intended to give those dealing with sexual violence PTSD a reminder to breathe, that it’s okay to take one step at a time and to illustrate that PTSD is an internal struggle. This short is intended both for those unaffected as a narrative to understand the internal struggle to be empathetic and for those dealing with PTSD to give them a mantra. You are not alone, it's not your fault, you are loved, you are deserving, breathe. Thank you so much to Christon (VanadiumValor) for his amazing music, written and composed all by him, and for all his help and support by doing the text animation and helping me color some hefty sections.
