Homebrew SDR Receiver - Hardware and Software Overview (Not RTL-SDR)

Brief outline of the next project, a homebrew SDR receiver. This will become a full transceiver in due course.

Front end is a simple double direct conversion receiver setup using two SBL-1 mixers. The quadrature VFO signals are generated by an Arduino driving a Si5351 DDS, which in turn is feeding a 74HC74 acting as a divide by 4 counter. The audio out of the two mixers is then passed through simple LPFs. No post amplification at this stage. If I need to down track, then I'll use a couple of low noise NE5534 op amps.

The back end will be a Teensy 3.6 (refer https://www.pjrc.com/store/teensy36.html) from Paul Stoffregen. A really powerful ARM Cortex based uP. I'll look to use Paul's audio libraries within the Arduino IDE to develop the code. Will look to plot the freq spectrum and have variable BW filters to cater for SSB/CW reception.

Please let me know if you find this interesting.
