FS 508-128/2001-SRN Siren Test Ambience, The Colony, TX

Nothing like some punchy wind to ruin an otherwise epic ambience!

Driving to this siren, I noticed from the Grandscape entrance bridge that the particular 508-128 I was set to record appeared visible, complementing a beautiful backdrop. Noting the 2001-SRN that was about 3/4 of a mile to my right, I tried to maximize the number of visible sirens in my shots, however, the blossoming spring trees blocked my shot. Settling on this shot, I quickly realized upon stepping out of my car that the wind would be a significant issue, which it was, as you can hear in the video. Aside from the wind, the ambience was quite eerie; the video doing no justice to it. The Colony tests every Wednesday at noon, the first being weather permitting, and 90 seconds.
