Carl Jung's Therapies for Depression
Carl Jung's Therapies for Depression.
In this video, I cover Carl Jung's therapies for depression. Jung's therapies fit within the psychodynamic framework and so they consider both the conscious and unconscious aspects of the psyche. Please keep in mind that there are many therapies for depression and this video is presenting Carl Jung's therapies as a part of the history of psychology. If you are struggling with depression and you feel you need help it may be a good idea to seek out a professional psychologist. However, I do believe Carl Jung's therapies for depression could be helpful for those who are able to implement them and where such therapies seem to be fitting for the individual in question.
Carl Jung out lines two different kinds of depression, the first is coupled with a mood or feeling of depression, and the second is more of a dull but excruciating emptiness. Both kinds of depression are dealt with in Jung's psychology through a process of giving form and meaning to unconscious contents via the assistance of consciousness. It is an interplay and conversation between the conscious and unconscious standpoints of the psyche.
