A Pathway To Understanding Open D Tuning

Open D Tuning is easily my favorite alternate tuning - it can do the swampy bluesy stuff, but also, once you get comfortable with it you can do just about anything else rootsy/soundscapey/Nick Drake-y.
This vid is more about just giving you a way to approach this open tuning that gets you acquainted as quickly as possible. Side bonus - the ideas here translate very well to other open tunings as well.
Basically, it's a good idea to find your I, IV, and V chords, and your major and minor pentatonic scales. That's a good start!
