Ryan O'Neal Dead, ‘Love Story’ Star Passes At 82

"Love Story" and "Peyton Place" star Ryan O'Neal has died. He was 82. His son, Patrick O'Neal, confirmed his passing on Friday, Dec. 8 on Instagram with a heartfelt tribute. "So this is the toughest thing I've ever had to say but here we go. My dad passed away peacefully today, with his loving team by his side supporting him and loving him as he would us," he wrote in part. "This is very difficult for my wife Summer and I, but I will share some feelings to give you an idea of how great a man he is." His official cause of death has not been disclosed at this time, but he faced several health issues over the years. He was diagnosed with chronic leukemia in 2001 and prostate cancer in 2012. Ryan has a prolific career. He was nominated for an Oscar in 1971 and starred in several landmark films including "Love Story" and "Paper Moon." His breakout role was on the soap opera "Peyton Place." He was married two times, once to Leigh Taylor-Young and another time to Joanna Moore, and famously dated Farrah Fawcett on-and-off for 30 years until her death in 2009.
