Micron Legend: Jet Convoy Debuts

Hey, Steven. You wanna see something cool?

Things are not looking good for the Cybertrons. Jetfire has fallen into a trap, the bait being someone shouting, "Hey! You should come over here!" So, Jetfire, as the only flying Cybertron, is isolated in the air by Thrust and his Micron team. With the Cybertrons' ace in the hole surrounded on all sides and the Cybertron leader still recovering from his injuries last episode, it looks like Thrust might actually be able to pull of a victory on Earth. For once.

But then, Alexa notices someone activating the Cybertrons' warp gate. It's Convoy, who really shouldn't be out of bed yet. Barely able to stand, he orders Ratchet to warp him to Thrust's current location.

Keep in mind, Thrust is in the air when he says this.

Nevertheless, Convoy is the Cybertron commander, so Devastator does exactly what he says.

And what happens next is pretty fucking sweet.

This absolute madman just fucking swan dives from thousands of feet up like a fucking missile, narrowly missing Thrust, before combining with Jetfire MID-AIR.

Holy shit. I didn't realize I was watching Jackass. Why don't more people talk about this scene? This is amazing!

Besides the death-flipping-off-awesomeness, this scene is also rather infamous for being riddled with errors in the English version. Not only is Jet Optimus referred to by his Japanese name, but in several shots the animators have apparently forgotten what Jet Optimus looks like and instead have Optimus's super mode in his place. Yes. They drew Optimus in the wrong form. Whoops.

Screencaps comparing the incorrect character model from the English version to the shots of Jet Convoy in Micron Legend were some of the "evidence" used to trick Armada viewers into thinking that the animation in Micron Legend was far superior to that of Armada. But as you can see for yourself in this scene, that's really not the case. At all.
