#PET_Film Is the Density of Toray PET Film Always 1.4 g/cm³?

Many buyers assume by default that the density of all PET films is 1.4 g/cm³, but this is not actually the case.

✅ Toray Standard PET Films (Density: 1.4 g/cm³):

S-10 / T-60 / H-10 / E-20 / X-30

✅ Toray Special Low-Density PET Films:

E63 → Density: 1.0 g/cm³

E60L → Density: 0.84 g/cm³

✅ White PET Films: Toray vs. Other Brands

Toray E20 White PET Film → 1.4 g/cm³

Other Brands' White PET Films → Typically 1.5 g/cm³

This difference directly impacts weight calculations and procurement costs. If you calculate based on a density of 1.4 but actually receive a product with a density of 1.5, both the total weight and the associated costs will be higher than anticipated.

Currently, only Toray is capable of achieving a density of 1.4 g/cm³ for white PET films; this serves as a clear testament to the technological leadership of Toray's manufacturing expertise in Japan.

✅ How to Quickly Identify Low-Density PET Films:

Gently fold the film by hand:

Low Density (approx. 1.0): Folds very easily, and the tactile feel of the crease is distinctly different.

Standard Density (1.4–1.5): The tactile difference is not significant; the most reliable method is to perform an actual weight comparison after production is complete.
