The starter motor was making a clicking noise when trying to start the car. I assumed it was the solenoid on the starter that is worn.

Tips:
Before replacement, check if your battery terminals and cables are secure and tight on battery post as well as the starter and car body. Also remove any corrosion that may be on it.
And always check the fuses and relays if all are good.

Then try jump starting the car or swap a battery from another car.
If it does not start, engine is not cranking over.
Replace the starter.
