Some of the crew members, has got fascination for fishing, and , they always carry their own fishing hooks, and equipment, while sailing on board. They deploy their fishing hook, when they get any laser period, while vessel at port , harbor and anchorage.

Type of fish at different parts or water of world
Various ports in the world, have different types of fish, in their water. Some ports or anchorage, has got plenty of fish, but some ports, don't have any fish. Some are, good for catching big fish, and most ports have only small fishes. We have seen places where, plenty of squids only, coming in special type of fishing hook, few squid in a bunch, while focused light in the water, and also , in few water we got plenty cat fish.

How we catch big fish in American water, at Houston port Galveston Anchorage:
On the next day vessel got an anchorage awaiting berth in Houston anchorage. In the anchorage the ship’s crew deployed 4 fishing hooks two on each side of the ship and after whole night waiting with patience the could catch 4 huge big fish . 2 of them are sea bass which is called Koral fish in local area of indian subcontinent and 2 of them are Indian Salmon which called Lakkha fish in local area.

The equipment you'll need for fishing at sea.
I have a check list which I look at every single time I'm about to leave. I won't forget something if I use the checklist!

For a normal trip out you will need:

Your rod and reel
Your tackle
Your bait
A sharp knife
A bucket to keep your catches in (recommended)
A cloth to wipe your hands and hold spiky fish
Spare spool of line for making rigs etc.
Small first aid kit
A small (but long-nosed) plier or disgorger

Buying a fishing rod

Before you start you need to decide what type of fishing you'll be doing the 'most' of.

The most common options are:

Float fishing

Fishing on the seabed
Fishing in rocks
Fishing from cliffs
Fishing from the beach

What should my tackle box include?
When you first start your stocking up, a good list of things to buy should include:

2 or more floats (plus weights for them)
2 or 3 different sets of hooks
6 or more various weights (see below)
A long nosed plier or disgorger
Small and large beads
A sharp knife
Packet of swivels
Bait elastic
Spare line

Can I fish a pier/ship at night?
Yes. At sunset you'll notice a quick change from one type of fish to another. In the summer, as an example, you will catch mackerel and garfish during the day and just as the sun sets it will suddenly switch to whiting and pollock.

What type of rod do I need for a pier? or Fishing without using a rod only holding the string in bare hand.
You need a rod without too much bend so you can keep your rig and fish away from a wall as you bring it up out of the water. A 10ft all round beachcaster rod is a popular choice. Pier rods were once popular and even recommended but they don't really have a place any longer with the rods of today.

If your rod does have a lot of bend you can still point the tip towards the water and reel up that way.

Fishing the sea bed any good?
Yes! Depending on the type of sea bed you have a good chance of catching wrasse, conger and many types of flat fish.

What depths are they likely to be at?
Garfish tend to be the fish hunting closest to the top. Mackerel tend to feed around half way up. If you're catching a specific type of fish then this image will show you roughly where you're fishing.
