Inside an alleged immigration scheme to exploit foreign workers - The Fifth Estate
A pitch to turn P.E.I. and New Brunswick into apple-growing capitals, with support from industry leaders and three premiers, was an easy sell to investors and would-be workers. Those who bought in found themselves in an alleged immigration scheme. The Fifth Estate’s Steven D’Souza investigates how foreign workers who were desperate for a better life were allegedly charged illegal fees for work permits.
