We often talk about these 2 important topics on this channel - freedom & security.

There is a famous saying that goes ''those who give up freedom for safety, deserve neither''. However, in this day and age things may not be necessarily so black and white. There are ways to have both. We can create optionality in our life that will give us both freedom and safety.

Future is uncertain, so it's a good idea to have options. We don't know how things may turn out in the long run, so it's good to plan ahead on multiple different fronts.

Things that we certainly apply is having different bank accounts and multiple residencies. Both of these enhance your freedom, give you more optionality and make your life safer.
Same could be said for having a second citizenship. This may be less necessary for some people (depending on their country of citizenship), but for others it can be a life changing opportunity.

Another thing that should make it to the list is time freedom, and this is often overlooked by many people. A great opportunity may come up and you just won't be able to take advantage of it because you don't have time.

The last thing I'd mention would be cash on hand. I don't think it's a good idea to have all of your moeny invested and to not be liquid at all at any given time.
