India: At least 20 Killed as Bus Catches Fire in Andhra Pradesh | N18G
At least 20 people were killed after a Bengaluru-bound private sleeper bus carrying around 40 passengers caught fire in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district early on Friday. The blaze was reportedly triggered when a two-wheeler coming from behind hit the bus and got trapped underneath, with its open fuel cap igniting the flames. The fire spread rapidly, and a short circuit jammed the bus door, leaving passengers trapped as the vehicle was engulfed within minutes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered condolences and announced ex-gratia relief for the victims’ families.
