परमेश्‍वरबाटको आज्ञा पाएपछि मोशाले बाह्र जनालाई कनान देशको भेद लिन पठाएका थिए । जब उनीहरु त्यस देशको भेद लिएर आए, तब दुई जना: कालेब र यहोशूले मात्रै आशा र विश्वासको खबर मानिसहरुको माझमा सुनाए । तर बाँकी भेद लिन जानेहरुले चाहीँ निराशाको खबर सुनाए । परमेश्वरले इजरायलीहरुलाई दुध र मह बग्‍ने देश दिन्छु भनी पहिल्यै प्रतिज्ञा गरिसक्नुभएको भएतापनि, उनीहरुले कालेब र यहोशूको खबर माथि विश्वास गरेनन्, बरु अविश्वास गरेर गनगन गर्न लागे । परिणामस्वरुप, परमेश्‍वरले उनीहरुमध्ये पहिलो पुस्ताबाट कालेब र यहोशू बाहेक अरु कसैलाई पनि प्रतिज्ञाको देशभित्र प्रवेश गर्न दिनुभएन । हाम्रो दैनिक जिवनमा पनि हामीले धेरै राम्रो र नराम्रो दुवै किसिमका खबरहरु सुन्छौँ, तर हामीले कस्तो खबर माथि विश्वास गर्ने गरेका छौँ त? अनि, हामीले पनि अरुहरुको जिवनमा कालेब र यहोशूको जस्तो आशाको कुरा बोल्दै छौँ, कि बाँकी मानिसले जस्तै निराशाको कुरा बोल्दै छौँ? यी कुराहरुमा हामी एकदम होशियार हुनुपर्छ ।
After receiving the command from God, Moses sent twelve people to investigate the land of Canaan. When they returned back, only two of them: Caleb and Joshua presented the news of hope and faith among the people. But the remaining spies presented the words of despair. Although God had already promised all the Israelites a land flowing with milk and honey, they didn’t believe in the words of Caleb and Joshua. Instead, they believed in the bad news and grumbled against God and Moses. As a result, God didn’t let anyone from their first generation except Caleb and Joshua to enter into the promised land. In our daily life, we too hear both good and bad news, but which one of them have we been believing? And, have we been speaking good news to others' lives like Caleb and Joshua or have we been speaking news of despair to others' lives? We need to be very careful on this.
