Digital Engineering Basics: MBSE to Wire Harness Design
Digital Engineering Basics: MBSE to Wire Harness Design
(Part 3 of a 3-part series)
Presenter: Sanu Warrier, Technical Marketing Manager, Zuken USA
As Digital Engineering continues to gain momentum, the question of how to create a product model becomes critical. In concert with Zuken, Vitech presents this third webinar as part of a three-part series exploring the digital engineering development process using a video drone example. Part 1 covers a systems engineering approach to model creation. The second webinar showed how trade studies are performed on the product model to verify and optimize the architecture. This third webinar moves the drone model into a detailed design for wire harness design.
This webinar explores the design process for moving the video drone model within GENESYS to E3.series for cable and harness design. This direct transfer replaces weeks of work to convert the model into documents for implementation. Through this process, the cable design team has access to the video drone model from within the E3.series design environment. There is no need for the detailed design team to launch GENESYS. The requirements, parameters, diagrams, etc. are all fully visible from E3.series. A demonstration is provided to cover the entire design process that starts with transferring the video drone model to E3.series, followed by viewing the model within E3.series, and finally, cable design based on the model content.
You’ll learn:
• How SysML models are connected to detailed design
• How the extended schema enhances the data transfer
• How detailed design remains connected to the model
• How the model can be viewed from E3.series
• How IPC-2581 is used to import PCB connector data into E3.series
