The Digital Circus and Popee The Performer Collab is INSANE

Did you know this in the amazing digital circus?

Recently glitch announced one of their craziest collabs yet, this time with the 2000’s japanese show popee the performer. What’s the lore behind it? Let me explain.

So i’ve covered these many times but the digital circus has had various collabs in japan where they get unique merch and items.

The latest one was announced and it’s with popee the performer.

Popee the performer was a cgi anime series in japan that ran between 2000 and 2003. Gooseworx went on the record saying it’s story and art style inspired the digital circus, and some of it’s scenes were directly referenced in the show.

So basically the digital circus is the spiritual successor to popee, and now it’s collabing with the original.

There’s various items like bags and t shirts. My favourites however are the keychains, we see the characters from the digital circus hanging out with the ones they’re inspired from.

So Popee is with jax. Papi is with pomni, and kedamono is beside gangle.

Gooseworx shared the news saying “This is so unbelievably surreal.”

Personally I think this could be my favourite collab yet. Popee the performer is genuinely a really good show, it was ahead of its time in alot of ways. But it ended over 20 years ago and it’s getting this merch collab which i think is amazing.

Eventually it would be cool to see these items released oversees because im sure a ton of fans would buy them.
