ii-V-I idea in the key of E Minor. The Coltrane Pentatonic scale is used for the ‘V7’ tension and also for the ‘I Chord’ once resolved.

Harmony:
F# ø = A Melodic Minor
B7alt = C Melodic Minor (C Coltrane Pentatonic)
Em = E Melodic Minor (E Coltrane Pentatonic)

Both Coltrane Pentatonic scales use the same pattern: Scale ascending in ‘3rds’ (3rd added below each note of scale to create the two note cells).

As this is a 5 note pentatonic, playing ‘3rds’ from the scale produce various modern intervals such as 4ths & Tritones!
