Liberty Fabric in Tokyo | Nippori Fabric Town Tour #sewing #tokyo #Nippori Fabric Town

Before leaving Japan, I saved one afternoon just for Nippori Fabric Town.

If you’re coming to Tokyo to shop for fabric, give yourself at least 2–3 hours.
Take your time.
Look slowly.
Touch the textures.
Let yourself choose without rushing.

Nippori isn’t just a place to buy fabric.
It feels like a small paradise made for sewists.

It was my last day in Japan.
The sun was shining, but there was that quiet feeling of not wanting the trip to end.

I walked into Pakira at the intersection,
and the moment I stepped inside, I saw it.

Liberty TRESCO Flowers.

It almost felt dramatic —
like spring had been laid out across the fabric.

The colors were vibrant but gentle.
Fresh greens dancing between blossoms.
Watercolor-soft brushstrokes.
Light, airy, full of life.

It was the kind of fabric you don’t hesitate over.
You just know — this is the one.

Later, I brought it home and turned it into a skirt.

While sewing, I kept thinking about that afternoon in Nippori.
Sunlight falling at the shop entrance.
Bolts of fabric stacked on wooden shelves.
The slow, old-town rhythm of the street.

Wearing this skirt feels like carrying a piece of Tokyo’s last afternoon with me.

Some fabrics are just materials.
Some fabrics are memories.

This one is the latter.
