US Just Introduced a Bill That Could End OPT and Cut H-1B by 60%
America has started choosing Americans first 🇺🇸🚫
A new bill just introduced in the US Congress could change everything for Indian students planning to study and work in the US.
The End H-1B Visa Abuse Act of 2026, introduced by Rep. Eli Crane, proposes cutting the annual H-1B cap from 65,000 to just 25,000, a drop of over 60%. But the numbers are only part of the story.
The bill wants to completely eliminate Optional Practical Training, which means no post-study work experience for international students. It proposes ending H-4 visas, so your spouse or family cannot join you. It blocks any path from H-1B to permanent residency, sets a minimum H-1B salary at $200,000, and puts a hard 3-year limit on how long you can stay with no renewals.
Rep. Crane put it plainly: “We owe it to the American people to prevent the broken H-1B system from boxing them out of jobs they are qualified to perform.”
This bill hasn’t passed yet, but the direction is hard to ignore. If the US is part of your 2026 plan, now is the time to stay informed and think carefully about what comes after your degree

Why does GyanDhan keep showing up on your YouTube feed?
Because when you’re searching for the right guidance on education loans, this is where we come to help.
GyanDhan was founded by IIT alumni who once stood exactly where you are today—ambitious, talented, and ready to study at top universities in India and abroad. But there was one major roadblock: access to education loans wasn’t easy.
Years later, those shared struggles turned into a serious conversation, countless brainstorming sessions, and over three years of dedicated effort. The result was GyanDhan—a platform built to solve the very problem they once faced.
Today, GyanDhan helps thousands of students secure education loans for both overseas and Indian education, making the funding process simpler, faster, and more transparent.
Beyond loans, we also collaborate with trusted and verified study abroad experts across India. This ensures students receive the right guidance and stay protected from scams and misleading promises in the overseas education space.
If you’re planning your higher education journey and want clarity, credibility, and the right financial support, you’re in the right place.
📌 Because GyanDhan isn’t just a platform—it’s built by people like you, for people like you.
