La nostra prima avventura è sicuramente intrigante, si tratta delle famose e antichissime statue di pietra di Campana in Provincia di Cosenza.
Diversi sono i documentari su queste statue, ma nessuno si è mai spinto oltre al limite del visibile. Nelle nostre ricerche ci imbattemmo nel personaggio "a nostro avviso" più importante riguardante l'argomento.
L'architetto Domenico Canino, noto per essere lo scopritore delle pietre e in seguito per esserne diventato il più accanito studioso per quasi 10 anni ci ha raccontato la storia del suo ritrovamento oltre a quello che lui a scoperto a riguardo.
Le pietre dell'incavallicata, cosi vengono e venivano chiamate dagli abitanti del luogo, sono note da molto tempo dalla popolazione, che le ha però da sempre attribuite all'opera della natura e in particolar modo al vento.
Gli studi fatti da Canino sono confluiti in un libro appunto "Le Pietre dell'incavallicata", nel quale vengono fatte notare le incongruenze con tutte le teorie antecedenti alla sua.
Dopo varie ricerche e dopo essersi avvalso dell'ausilio di scultori, scalpellini, ed esperti nell'utilizzo della pietra ha riscontrato evidenti segni di lavorazione, oltre a una evidente simmetria lungo tutta la prima statua dell'elefante.
