How to Assigning Licenses to a User in Microsoft Entra ID

SC-300: Microsoft Identity & Access Administrator course! This session covers the course roadmap and key cloud computing fundamentals essential for identity and security management in Microsoft Entra ID (formerly known as Azure Active Directory).

To assign a license in Microsoft Entra ID, sign in to the Microsoft Entra Admin Center as a License Administrator, go to Identity -- Billing -- Licenses -- All products, select a license, and then choose to assign it to a user or group. When assigning, select Users and groups, search for the user, configure the license options if needed, and then select Assign to complete the process.
Here are the step-by-step instructions:
Using the Microsoft Entra Admin Center
Sign in: Log in to the Microsoft Entra Admin Center with a License Administrator role or a role with similar permissions.
Navigate to Licenses: In the left-hand menu, go to Identity -- Billing --Licenses -- All products.
Select a License: Choose the checkbox next to the desired license plan you want to assign.
Initiate Assignment: Select the option to assign the license, which might be labeled as Assign licenses or similar, and choose to assign it to users and/or groups.
Choose Users or Groups: In the pane that appears, search for and select the specific user or group to receive the license.
Configure Assignment Options: Click on Assignment options (or equivalent) to review and adjust the services included in the license if necessary.
Complete Assignment: Select Ok and then Assign to confirm and finalize the license assignment.
