Sukuti, jerky in English, is a favourite and almost a necessity in Nepalese as well as a few other cuisines from the Indian Subcontinent. Meat is cut into long strips and left to dry above the fireplace. The dried meat is cooked with various spices and served as a side dish and it is also very popular as a snack in restaurants and bars accompanying various alcoholic beverages. Today here at Jatso’s Kitchen we show you the latter method of cooking this buff sukuti, that we smoked ourselves; but we’ve used as BBQ and also instead ling stirps we have cut the meat into thin flat pieces. We have done so for the various reasons I’ve already specified on the video.
