Piper PA-28 Emergency Landing After Losing Right Landing Gear | Warsaw EPBC

On May 21, 2026, a Piper PA-28A Cherokee (SE-EOT) lost its right landing gear leg shortly after takeoff from Warsaw Babice Airport, Poland.

Faced with a missing main landing gear, the crew remained airborne for approximately two hours to burn fuel and prepare for an emergency landing. Airport emergency services were positioned alongside the runway as the aircraft returned for its final approach.

The Piper touched down safely on Runway 28 at Warsaw Babice despite the missing gear. Nobody was injured.

The incident marked another unusual landing involving a PA-28, with the crew earning praise for a calm and professional outcome under difficult circumstances.
