How to Make Screen Rotate On iPhone (Or Set Only Some Apps To Rotate)

In this tutorial, I show how to make the screen rotate on your iPhone and what to check if rotation isn’t working.

First, I explain how screen rotation works in iOS, including how many apps will automatically rotate when Orientation Lock is turned off. Then I show how to open Control Center and check whether Orientation Lock is enabled or disabled.

I also demonstrate how some apps (like YouTube) allow gestures that temporarily rotate the video even if orientation lock is turned on.

At the end, I walk through a Shortcut automation trick that can automatically turn off Orientation Lock when you open a specific app, which is a great workaround if you only want certain apps to rotate.

In this video you’ll learn:
• How to enable screen rotation on iPhone
• How to check Orientation Lock in Control Center
• Why some apps rotate while others don’t
• How YouTube rotation gestures work
• How to automatically disable Orientation Lock for specific apps using Shortcuts
