Volcan, Panama - Nature, groceries, nature!
https://www.pattybluehayes.com
Do you like hummingbirds? At the end of this video is about 8 full minutes of hummingbirds and their cute little chirping sounds. I find it so incredibly peaceful and meditative to watch them - I could probably do it for hours.
The birds here on the property where I'm housesitting are incredible! I don't know the names of them yet, but there are black ones with vibrant red feathers - a hydrangea-blue bird that likes to eat the banana I leave out under the wire mesh as the homeowner suggested. I may have seen a mott mott. Whatever it was, it had a very long tail but its body seemed bigger than a regular bird.
This is the rainy season right now, and if you're not a morning person, rainy season will urge you to become one.
So far, it's been sunny in the mornings and then the clouds roll in off the mountains around noon. Then the rain starts - and unlike in Coronado, the rain here just keeps going and going. Personally, I enjoy it. Having lived in California for over 30 years and experiencing droughts and fires, rain is a blessing.
On a downside, common in both Coronado and here, is that if you have an internet issue (as I'm currently experiencing), it may take 3 days for the cable company to come out and see what's going on. Get a good data plan.
Even with my data plan, this video has been uploading to Youtube for 48 hours and it's just at 62% currently.
Next video will likely have more hummingbirds, a beautiful walk just outside of Volcan Baru Park and whatever else the week brings.
Thanks for watching.
