1956 Chevy Long Roof With A TUNNEL RAMMED BIG BLOCK CHEVY!
The 1956 Chevy Wagon is officially BIG BLOCK POWERED! The final fitment required a little cutting/massaging to the oil pan to clear the rear steer. I just kept cutting until the steering linkage could make full travel side to side. Once the center link cleared the pan I fabbed up a patch panel and sealed off the pan.
The headers (that I bought second hand) needed a little a little work for proper fitment. First off they dumped straight into steering so that had to change. They also came with a 4 bolt collector flange, and I couldn't find a proper gasket for them anywhere. So I cut the headers up, made them fit the steering and welded on a standard set of 3 bolt collectors.
Now that the motor and transmission are secured in place I can re install the front clip to get the full effect! This old hot rod is going to look AWESOME!
