Heart Ring at The Bead Gallery, Honolulu

Aloha! First some housekeeping.. If you want to ignore the background noise of the tumbler in this video, turn on a noisy fan, or YOUR tumbler. OR think of it as calming white noise!!

We LOVE this heart ring! It's a great project to make as a gift or for yourself to remember how much LOVE we hold in our hearts and literally in our hands! :) . Please excuse the background noise - we had the tumbler running and polishing rings during the class and I never intended on sharing this video (did it for my students as a bonus reminder)!

I hope you enjoy it and make one for yourself!!

TOOLS & SUPPLIES:
Basic Tools: chain, round, flat nose pliers and cutters.
6 step Wrap and Tap Plier
Ring mandrel
Nylon Hammer
Metal Chasing Hammer
File or Emery Board
We recommend tumbling at the end to harden and polish the metal.

8"of 16g soft is plenty of wire. The actual ring takes about 6" to make a size 8

NOTES: Make the first bend (the center crease of the heart) with the chain pliers about 2 to 2.5" in depending on puff size. Smaller puffs made on #4 jaw of 6 step wrap and tap. Larger on step #5

Open the crease with the tip of the round nose pliers to spread it apart. Then shape each puff around the wrap and tap jaw.

Karen's size 8.5 ring used 6" of wire.
