Thermally Bluing Screws for Movement Mod

Movement mod time! Using the flame bluing technique we showed in the previous video, we’ll turn a basic Miyota 8215 movement into a custom mod movement with blue screws. We’ll also explore how different finishes on a screw, polished or straight grained, affect the outcome of bluing.

And make sure you watch till the end! We have a specially blued screw that illustrate two intertwined elements in flame bluing: metal composition and temperature.

This video is a quasi part 2 of the Flame Blue hands video published previously. So a lot of the information mentioned in that video is not repeated here. You may want to revisit that video first to better understand the action in this video: https://youtu.be/AeISVhZxLm8
