El gran problema de la energía solar fotovoltaica

La energía solar fotovoltaica ha experimentado un crecimiento exponencial en los últimos años convirtiéndose en una de las tecnologías renovables más maduras y eficientes.

Pero, los paneles fotovoltaicos al igual que cualquier otra tecnología, también están llegando al final de su vida útil.

Mientras que en el año 2016 los desechos de panales solares rondaban unas 250.000 toneladas, se estima que para el año 2030 ese número habrá ascendido a unos 8 millones de toneladas de paneles inservibles, y para el año 2050 serán 78 millones de toneladas de residuos de paneles fotovoltaicos en todo el mundo.

Entonces, ¿qué haremos con todos esos paneles fotovoltaicos que han quedado en desuso? ¿Es posible reciclarlos?
