Ukrainian drones have hit a camouflaged plant producing attack drones in Russia’s Kaluga region, Ukrainian media reported, citing intelligence sources. The strike was carried out on the Kaluga Gas Concrete enterprise in the village of Obukhovo in Dzerzhinsky District of Kaluga Region. There, Russians had set up production lines for drones, including the Geranium-2, copied from the Iranian Shaheed drones. All flights were cancelled at Kaluga airport from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m due to the attack. The regional governor Vladislav Shapsha reported the interception of 25 Ukrainian drones over the region. According to him, the debris caused fire in the building of the manufacturing plant in the Dzerzhinsky district of the region. One of the employees received minor injuries. This was not the first Ukrainian attack on a drone producing factory in Russian territory. In April last year, Ukrainian drones attacked production facilities in the cities of Yelabuga and Nizhnekamsk in the republic of Tatarstan. Ukraine's military intelligence, HUR, claimed responsibility for the attack. It should be noted that Russia’s defence ministry said recently that Ukraine launched attacks with 337 drones, 91 of which were aimed at Moscow and the surrounding region. Three people were reported to have been killed during the attacks. All four of the Russian capital’s airports had to be closed, and local air defences were not entirely effective in repelling the assault. Ukraine’s decision to launch a drone attack into Russia as the next phase of peace negotiations involving delegations from Washington and Kyiv began, is a clear demonstration that its military capacity has not yet been significantly dented by Donald Trump’s decision to withhold military intelligence last week.
