What Scales Do We Use In METAL bass playing?!!

This week we're looking at how scales are used in heavy metal styles. Or are they?!!

We'll look back through the history of rock and metal and see how scales have featured from the minor pentatonic, Natural Minor and blues scales of Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath through to the chromatic lines of later metal bands like Metallica, Anthrax and Slayer.
Do they use scales? I'm not so sure!
