Jake is already confused by the dinner menu, but the real lesson of the night has nothing to do with food. 😅🍽️ When he hears the word “venison,” he thinks everyone is talking about “dear” as in a person, not deer from the forest. Once Charlie explains it with Bambi, Jake understands a little too well… and somehow gets even more excited. 🦌😂

But then Alan decides it is time to clear his name. He wants Jake to know the truth about the silly putty incident. Alan did not steal anything. Charlie did. 😳

Charlie admits he slipped it into Alan’s pocket so that if anyone got caught, Alan would take the blame. To Alan, this should be the moment Jake finally understands that his father is innocent and Charlie is the bad example. But Jake hears the story and comes to a completely different conclusion. 🤦‍♂️

Instead of being disappointed in Uncle Charlie, Jake thinks he is brilliant. In his mind, Charlie did not make a terrible choice. He pulled off the perfect plan. Alan was just the decoy. Or as Charlie explains, technically, the mule. 😂🔥

Alan tries desperately to bring the lesson back to honesty. He wants Jake to understand that stealing is wrong, blaming someone else is worse, and Charlie is not someone to admire in this moment. But it is too late. Jake has already locked onto the funniest part: his dad was the mule. 🐴🤣

That is what makes the scene so perfect. Alan wants a moral victory, Charlie accidentally turns crime into a vocabulary lesson, and Jake walks away learning the exact wrong thing. In this family, even a confession somehow makes Charlie look cooler and Alan look more ridiculous. 😂🏠
