We are still catching our breath after an absolutely astonishing grand final that will surely go down in history as one of the most remarkable clashes ever witnessed in our league. The championship battle between the "Loose Cannons" and the "Usuals" unfolded in a series of heart-stopping moments that left us all on the edge until the very last shot.
The "Loose Cannons" couldn't have asked for a better start, securing the first two games in spectacular fashion. In a nail-biting showdown, Warren managed to edge out Tad in a cliffhanger with a score of 270 - 266. Despite Tad's impressive comeback, it was Warren's early lead that ultimately secured his victory. In the other match, Peter displayed dominant prowess, defeating Chris with a commanding score of 270 - 214.
With the "Loose Cannons" leading 2-0 and holding a 60-point advantage at the halfway stage, it seemed as though the championship was firmly within their grasp. However, the "Usuals" were not ready to concede defeat. As the reverse singles began, Chris found himself receiving a pep talk from Tad, reminding him that the game wasn't over yet. This spark ignited a sensational turnaround as Chris dug deep, summoning his finest form to come from behind and narrowly edge out Warren with a score of 270 - 260. Though Chris claimed victory, the point margin only narrowed by 10 points.
In the pivotal showdown, Tad, a former state champion, drew upon his wealth of experience to stage a remarkable comeback. With breaks of 35, 35, and an impressive 57, Tad turned the tide and secured a resounding victory of 270 - 212, tying the match 2-2.
The thrilling grand final, which saw over 2000 points scored across four games, culminated in a points count back, resulting in an unbelievably close final score of 1020 - 1012 in favor of the "Usuals." The incredible eight-point difference showcased the intensity and fine margins that defined this unforgettable contest.
