No Dig Bed Prep & Transplanting, for speed of readiness and popping in plants

I show raking and levelling, quicker than digging and tilling. Perhaps a light hoeing, and I show how to see if weed growth justifies that. It may, if your compost had a lot of weed seeds!

See my April 13th 2020 update for springtime tips https://charlesdowding.co.uk/april-update-of-seasonal-no-dig-tips-and-for-new-gardeners-seed-quality-and-saving/

My online course 1 has a lot about no dig bed preparation, and how to mulch weeds which would be the year before this: https://charlesdowding.co.uk/product/online-course-1-no-dig-gardening/

Transplanting is easy with small plug plants, dropped into dibbed holes. I show suitable sizes for transplants of different vegetables, including multi-sown.
Also you see spacings for different vegetables. My online course 2 has extensive advice on that, plus propagation for early cropping, use of covers and how to harvest successfully: https://charlesdowding.co.uk/product/online-course-2-growing-success/

Filmed just before lockdown by David Adams at Homeacres, Somerset UK, zone 8 winter and zone 6 summer. This was a zone 7 day, after a frost of -2C 28F.
