Simion Bogdan-Mihai is a PhD student in literature (the title of the thesis he has been working on in the past three years is "The image of King Carol I in the press: anti-dynastic sentiments in 19th century Romania"), singer, cobza player, folklore aficionado, occasional writer and actor. For over four years he has coordinated the "Şamanul Mut" ("Mute Shaman") project, one of the few post-1989 musical projects that aimed at revitalizing peasant oral music in Romania. He is a permanent member of Agurida Band (Loredana Groza's orchestra). He has worked on the soundtrack of the Romanian TV Series "Las Fierbinţi" (produced by ProTV) and has coordinated the soundtrack of the upcoming TV Series "Flavours of Romania" (produced by the Travel Channel).
