The grand shimshal traverse

We (Sikander Sarwari and Ali Hasan) are back in our homes after tracing the foot steps of "Jenny Visser-Hooft" and her husband "PH. C. Visser" who did this trek in 1925.

Above mentioned couple did a trek from Passu to shimshal in search of the source of Ghujreb river and in that quest they crossed "Chafchingol Pass 5250m", "Maidur Pass 5700m" and finally "Shopoden Pass 5350m" before entering into shimshal valley in 1925. They wrote a book "Among the Karakoram Glaciers" published in 1926 in London.

We did the trek from opposite side crossing "shopoden Pass 5350m" on 8th September and then crossing "Maidur Pass 5700m" on 10th September and became first Pakistanis to cross this pass till this date and finally we crossed our last pass "Chafchingol Pass 5250m" on 14th September and reached kuksil on the same day.

This trek has been completed after 92 years.
