My approach to mixing drums

I'm a total beginner in all this recording/mixing/mastering thing and 100% that's not the way professionals do stuff like this but at least it works for me and I decided to share this approach with others. Might be useful for someone. Or maybe not) Anyway, here is how I mixed drums last time:

1. I programmed drum patterns in the Hydrogen drum machine with downloaded free drum samples from the middle of nowhere on the Internet.
2. Exported kicks/snare/toms/cymbals in separate tracks.
3. Imported to the DAW (in my case it's Ardour but I believe it does not matter which DAW you use).
4. Created buses to match the signal chain as shown in this video.
