How to Make a CONDITION Statement In Davinci Resolve
Create interactive controls in DaVinci Resolve with Fusion expressions. Link checkboxes to properties like rotation direction. Use "if" statements for toggle-based animations.

Implement interactive logic in your Fusion compositions using conditional expressions. The fundamental structure uses the "iff" function (if-false), which evaluates a condition and returns one of two possible values. In practice, this allows checkboxes or sliders to trigger completely different animation behaviors. For example, a "Reverse" checkbox could multiply time values by -1 when checked, inverting an animation's direction while preserving all other characteristics. More complex conditions can be built by nesting multiple iff statements or combining with comparison operators . When creating user controls for your conditions, pay careful attention to data types – a checkbox outputs 0 or 1, while sliders might need integer or floating-point constraints. This technique shines when building template projects for clients or team members, as it allows non-technical users to access multiple animation variations through simple control adjustments. For debugging complex conditions, use a Text+ node to display the current values of your variables as the composition plays. Conditional logic unlocks advanced possibilities like branching animations, style toggles, or physics-based behaviors that respond to user input.
