3,000 YEAR OLD UNDERWATER FOREST || Diving Clear Lake Oregon || Reid Adventures Ep. 9

In this episode of Reid Adventures we brave the frigid temperatures and SCUBA Dive Clear Lake; an alpine lake located in the Cascade Mountain Range in Oregon.

Clear Lake was formed when lava flows from Sand Mountain created a natural dam causing a small river to back up. This caused the surrounding forest to be inundated with the icy waters preserving them for thousands of years.

Today, the remnants of these stands of trees can be found a mere few feet below the surface down to the deeper depths of this magnificent lake.

With water temperatures hovering around 41 degrees Fahrenheit, diving this high altitude lake comes with its own unique challenges but with proper planning and preparation, it is very doable.
