Solo Wild Camp in Galloway Forest | Hammock Setup, Fishing, Fire-Cooked Steaks & Rainy Night Adventure

Join me on a solo wild camping adventure deep in the heart of Galloway Forest, Scotland’s wild and rugged gem. I hiked into the forest with everything I needed on my back — hammock, fishing rod, and a few tasty ingredients for a fireside feast.

After setting up the hammock between two trees, I cast my line into the nearby loch in search of wild brown trout. While the fish stayed elusive this time, the experience was great.

As the sun dipped behind the trees, I hotvthe drone up for a while.

I got a good fire going and cooked up some sizzling steak, followed by a hearty sourdough sandwich loaded with fried onions and tomatoes — proper wild camp comfort food!

Later into the night, the rain rolled in, but the spot held up brilliantly and made for a cozy, atmospheric end to the day. The sound of the rain on the tarp, the crackling fire, and the stillness of the forest made this a night to remember.
